SONOROUS SYSTEM
Audiovisual Direction for a theatrical-audiovisual piece commissioned by the Municipal Theater of Ovalle, presented on the virtual platforms of M100 and Teatro Municipal de Ovalle, Ovalle and Santiago de Chile (2020).
This project was developed at the beginning of the pandemic. It was originally conceived as a performing arts piece intended for a physical stage, but had to be adapted and transformed into an audiovisual work. That’s when I joined as audiovisual director, creating the visual language, animations, and visual compositions. The entire process, including filming, was carried out remotely and virtually.
Sistema Sonoro is an audiovisual work that establishes a wide terrain where the individual and the collective, the voice and the voices coexist. In this space, the body becomes blurred to give rise to a chorus that speaks in unison, forming a plural constellation.
The piece was developed in a context where physical gatherings were impossible, giving rise to a fragmented methodology that challenged the creative process and shaped the ways in which materials were generated, united, and edited. As a result, a visual chorus emerges, offering a sonic journey from the subjective to the collective and placing listening at the forefront of the experience.
